To ensure that all partnerships are built on shared values, mutual accountability, and clear expectations, and that they contribute meaningfully to CADEF’s mission and the wellbeing of our stakeholders.

This policy applies to:
- All formal and informal partnerships initiated by CADEF
- All staff, board members, interns, and volunteers involved in partnership development or implementation
- All joint activities, agreements, and resource-sharing arrangements

- Alignment: Partners must share CADEF’s commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and inclusive development
- Mutual Respect: Partnerships are built on trust, equity, and recognition of each party’s strengths
- Accountability: Roles, responsibilities, and expectations are clearly defined and documented
- Safeguarding: All joint activities must uphold CADEF’s safeguarding standards and protect beneficiaries
- Transparency: Financial, operational, and programmatic information is shared openly and responsibly
- Sustainability: Partnerships aim for long-term impact and responsible exit strategies
✅ Partnership Criteria
CADEF engages with partners who:
- Demonstrate legal registration and operational capacity
- Uphold non-discrimination, safeguarding, and ethical standards
- Align with CADEF’s strategic goals and programme priorities
- Commit to transparent reporting and mutual accountability
- Are willing to engage in joint planning, monitoring, and learning
📄 Agreements and Documentation
- All formal partnerships are governed by written agreements (e.g. MOUs, contracts)
- Agreements specify objectives, roles, duration, resources, and dispute resolution mechanisms
- Informal collaborations may be documented through letters of intent or shared work plans
- All agreements are reviewed by the Executive Management Team and approved by the Board when required
🔍 Monitoring and Review
- Joint activities are monitored through shared indicators and regular review meetings
- CADEF assesses partner performance, compliance, and impact
- Feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders informs partnership adjustments
- Partnerships are reviewed annually or at the end of the agreement period
🚨 Risk Management and Exit
- CADEF conducts due diligence before entering partnerships
- Risks are assessed and mitigation plans developed
- Partnerships may be suspended or terminated if standards are breached or risks become unmanageable
- Exit strategies are documented to ensure continuity and responsible transition
