My Body My Pride: Menstrual Hygiene Management for Adolescent Girls.

Girls’ dignity · Menstrual health · Community education

Access to menstrual health information and suitable products is an important part of girls’ dignity and wellbeing. In August 2023, CADEF Cameroon’s My Body My Pride initiative brought menstrual hygiene education and practical support to adolescent girls in underserved communities in Limbe Municipality.

Dignity, wellbeing and learning

The initiative addresses gaps in menstrual health information and access to suitable products. Its aims are to support girls’ dignity, wellbeing and participation in education.

Where the initiative worked

The initiative worked in three communities: Dogyard, Middle-Farms and Limbe Camp, bringing information and practical learning closer to girls and their communities.

Education paired with practical support

Activities included interactive workshops, information sessions, demonstrations of pad use and distribution of menstrual hygiene kits. Group discussions created space for questions and practical learning.
