CADEF CAMEROON strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who, in good faith, reports misconduct, raises a concern, or participates in an investigation. Retaliation undermines trust, silences accountability, and violates our core values of integrity, safety, and transparency.
π What Is Retaliation?
Retaliation includes any adverse action taken against a person because they:
- Reported a concern or violation
- Participated in an investigation or disciplinary process
- Refused to engage in unethical or unlawful conduct
- Requested clarification or raised questions about organisational practices
Examples of retaliation may include:
- Threats, intimidation, or verbal abuse
- Unjustified disciplinary action or dismissal
- Denial of opportunities, resources, or support
- Social exclusion or reputational harm
β CADEFβs Commitment
- All reports made in good faith are protected, even if not substantiated
- Retaliation is a serious violation and will result in disciplinary action
- CADEF will take interim protective measures where needed, including reassignment, confidentiality safeguards, and psychosocial support
- Retaliation concerns can be reported through the same channels as other complaints or whistleblower disclosures
π Reporting Retaliation
If you believe you have experienced retaliation, report it immediately to:
- Whistleblower Officer or Safeguarding Focal Point
- Email: report@cadef.org or ethics@cadef.org
- You may also use anonymous reporting channels where available
All retaliation reports will be investigated promptly, confidentially, and fairly.
