Model Classroom

The Model Classroom is an independent program supported in part by our Foundation since 1987. In 2003, the classrooms moved to a much larger school that will allow the program to expand as well as provide for a richer experience for the children enrolled. The Model Classroom serves children with autism who cannot participate in a "full inclusion" setting like the Walden School at Emory Autism Center.

This program has been replicated in several North Georgia Counties. Teachers around the state have been trained using this program and, under The Model Classroom umbrella, adult social skills programs are also being conducted in Cobb County. The Model Classroom teachers and paraprofessionals offer specialized tutoring and other training for the children served in The Model Classroom.
