About CADEF

Since 1985, CADEF has raised and distributed over $4.5 million in support of programs for individuals with autism. These funds have been raised through special events and through capital campaigns that included support from numerous philanthropic organizations such as The Woodruff Foundations, and other prominent organizations and individuals throughout Georgia.

In addition, CADEF has a strong devoted following of smaller core donors who have remained faithful throughout the years despite economic downturns. One of the most inspiring things about the supporters of CADEF is that many of them do not have autism in their family, yet they are able to see the importance of our Mission and have continued to help throughout the years to make sure that we are here to continue our efforts.

CADEF raised over $3 million for the Emory Autism Center

In 2001, our Foundation conducted a $3.4 million dollar capital campaign to construct a new building on the Emory University Campus, designed specifically for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. The original Emory Autism Center (EAC), created and established with assistance from our Foundation and located in a small building on the Emory campus in 1990, had been quickly outgrown as the need for autism services became clearly defined and the numbers of people seeking those services grew. This new and much larger building for the EAC was completed and occupied in August of 2002, and the possibility of touching the lives of an ever-expanding number of people is now a reality.
